We do not collect or process any sensitive data (as defined by GDPR)
To make payments to The School Tour Company via the website you must provide credit/debit card information. This is processed by a third party called Realex Payments, a European payment service provider.
The School Tour Company does not obtain or save any of the above-mentioned payment information.
Personal Data of Minors
We are aware that we obtain data related to minors. This data is necessary to enable us to provide the travel service and travel arrangements, and is obtained through a person of authority (i.e. a group leader via a parent/guardian)
Basis of use
Personal data is collected purely to facilitate travel arrangements. We do not use contact details of clients for any marketing or promotional activity. We may occasionally contact our group leaders through email with relevant offers on travel services they have purchased from us in the past. All such contacts contain simple and immediate opt-out options. We do not collect contact details for anyone outside of the primary group leaders, and as such will never contact them directly.
Why do we retain Personal Data?
We retain Personal Data for the amount of time that is necessary to fulfil your transaction with us and for our legal obligations as a commercial entity operating in the Republic of Ireland. Data can be retained for as little as 48 hours and up to 3-5 years depending on the nature of the data and individual circumstances. In every case we have carefully considered the best interests of our clients.
Do we process, share or transfer Personal Data?
Yes, we do process, transfer and share your Personal Data with the following parties, only where necessary to complete your transaction:
• Tour Operators, hotels or accommodation providers
• Airlines
• Other parties to comply with commercial laws and customer service obligations.
We process, transfer and share information with these parties in order to complete the booking process. We do not keep any important information online. This means your name, date of birth, mobile number and email will not be shared other than as outlined above.
What rights do I have?
You have certain rights as specified in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 as of 25th May 2018. Much of the regulation details your right to access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and object to processing or automated decisions. Please contact us if you wish to exercise these rights.
