Salamanca is a quintessential Castillan city renowned for its historical significance, architectural splendour and educational traditions. Its prestigious university, the University of Salamanca, is one of the oldest universities in Europe and has played a crucial role in the intellectual life of Spain for centuries.
The city’s Plaza Mayor is often considered one of the most beautiful squares in Spain and the Old Town (a UNESCO World Heritage site) features a wealth of historic buildings and monuments.
Salamanca is known for its lively student population, which gives the city a youthful and energetic vibe.
ITINERARY IDEAS
We fly groups into Madrid where they can do a city tour on arrival or before departure, taking in the Plaza Espana, Royal Palace and many more highlights.
The itinerary would generally include the following, but can be adapted to suit the needs of the group:
- Spanish language course – 3 hour morning lessons x 2 or 3 days.
- Tour of Salamanca.
- Visit to the Art Deco Museum
- Salsa dance lessons
- Cooking classes
- Excursion to Segovia and Avila
